* Sandie Young, who volunteers at Fairfax House, will talk about Lady Ann Fairfax. A truly remarkable woman: resilient, compassionate and devout, to whom history has not been kind.

* Resolutions and campaigns are a big part of WI life and no-one knows more about them than Glenis Wedzicha, Resolutions Co-ordinator for our area, North Yorkshire East. With cheese and wine to help the conversation flow.

* We take advantage of the long summer evenings for our annual picnic.

* Beetle drive, led by Wendy. An old favourite of a game, with plenty of scope for mirth and mayhem.

* Annual General Meeting and Christmas party. Review the year, question the committee and shape the future of our group in a short business meeting. Followed by our traditional seasonal gathering.
