1 April    Getting the Most from Your  WI

  • Everything you wanted to know about WI at every level and how you can join in!

6 May     Great British Women

  • After our Annual Meeting we'll discuss Resolutions and cast our vote.  Some of our members will then tell us what they've discovered about some inspiring British women probably unknown to most of us.

3 June   Opera for the People: An Evening with Nicola Mills

  • After hearing her at the 2024 Spring Council we're delighted to have Nicola with us as she shares her story, interspersed with songs from operas and musicals chosen by members from her song menu.

1 July    Declutter and Organise Your Home

  • Liz Power will share tips on how to free yourself from unwanted and unneeded objects to feel mentally and physically rewarded.

5 Aug    The Plague Doctor

  • David Bell will share a tongue-in-cheek account of life in the Derbyshire 'plague village' of Eyam and staying fit and well 350 years ago...

2 Sep    Separating Curds and Whey

  • The origins of cheese in Europe and beyond brought to us by Dr Penny Bickle of the University of York.

7 Oct    Deaf-Awareness and British Sign Language

  • Prof. Amanda Smith is a deaf BSL teacher with over 20 years experience and will teach us the basics of this essential communication method.

4 Nov    Seagrass and Kelp

  • Based in Scarborough, Seagrown will tell the story of their innovative seaweed-farming project and the tremendous environmental benefits that result. There will also be an opportunity to sample and buy seaweed-based products.

2 Dec    Tengu Taiko Drumming

  • Experience the excitement of this energetic and dynamic form of Japanese drumming.

Jan     No main meeting but subgroups meet as usual.

3 Feb    Una Sera Italiana

  • Celebrating the Milano Winter Olympics with fun and games - and something to eat and drink along the way.

3 Mar  A Bee in My Bonnet

  • Helen Cox will give  an illustrated talk and quiz about the history of beekeeping and the lifecycle of bees.

Make, Do and Mend: fun session trying different crafts every 2nd Tuesday at 7.00pm

Cop Cooks: bringing and sharing food featuring a particular ingredient every 3rd Tuesday at 7.00pm

Cop WI Book Group: lively and informal discussion on a chosen book from Copmanthorpe Library on the last Tuesday of the month at 7.00pm.
